Internships at the Michener

Internships

Do you love the arts? Are you a college or graduate student looking for experience in an art museum setting?  The Michener Art Museum offers credit and non-credit internships in a variety of departments.  Education majors may find working in Youth and Family Programs beneficial, creating gallery activities for summer campers (as pictured to the left) and assisting the Michener’s adjunct teachers in their lessons. Public Relations and Marketing majors receive relevant and applicable experience in the New Media Department, working with social media and writing content for the web.  Other departments in which internship programs are popular include School and Teacher Programs (Education), Collections, Library, and Visitor Services.  The possibilities are endless!  All majors are welcome and encouraged to apply.

The majority of internships take place between the months of May and August and require a minimum of 15 hours a week, contingent on the intern’s college requirements and project availability.  The museum also takes on interns during the school year if space is available. If you are interested in applying or learning more about the internship program, please email or send a letter of interest and resume to Zoriana E. Siokalo, Director of Programs at zsiokalo@michenerartmuseum.org.

Are you a former intern from the Michener? If so, share your experiences with us! We would love to hear from you!
